What is Pilates? |
| The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed over 90 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance and creates a more streamlined shape. |
| Pilates works from the inside out. It strengthens and lengthens the muscles of the body commonly known as stabilisers and mobilises. These support the skeletal structure of our bodies. As these muscles have to work hard on a daily basis during the regular movement of everyday activities - they need endurance. |

Who should attend Pilates classes? |
| Almost anyone can use the Pilates system with relative ease. Pilates is geared for everyone - for persons in need of rehabilitation, the elderly, professional athletes wanting to take their sport to the next level – basically, anyone who wants to lead a healthier, more vibrant life. |
| Pilates will help you whether you are recovering from an injury or op, ease chronic pain, get fit or train for competition. In fact anyone who desires better physical health, toned muscles and improved posture should do Pilates. The benefits of exercise are well known but the reality of our lives is that time is more the enemy than a lack of motivation to exercise. So the time you make for exercise needs to be time well spent. With Pilates you can be assured that your time and money are well invested. |

Which is right for me? Group or Private training? |
| Private training allows me, the instructor to work with your individual needs. Therefore, should you have a specific injury or condition, private training works best. I am able to provide the individual attention you require in a quiet and tranquil environment, scheduling training according to which times suit you best and which exercises are best for your body’s needs. |
| Owing to my small sized classes, each and every client who attends group training still benefits from the individual attention which I give to each person during the class. Group classes are more fitness orientated as opposed to focusing on rehabilitation and therefore group classes, (unless designated for certain requirements, such as pregnancy classes or pensioners classes) are best for those who not only enjoy the company of others but wish for more paced classes. |
| Group classes are suitable for beginners to advanced clients, however, (though not compulsory) I would always recommend coming for one or two private sessions before commencing with the group classes to assess your goals and requirements. |

How often should I do Pilates? |
| Most of us are anxious to see the results of our efforts as soon as possible. The great news about Pilates is that you will see results in a relatively short period of time depending on how often you train and how focused you are during training . A minimum of two classes a week is ideal. |

|
What do I wear? |
| Comfortable gym wear is suitable. Don’t wear any clothing that has a belt or buckle or any embellishment that may dig into your skin. You must be able to move freely. It’s best to tie up your hair. |
| Because foot movement and placement is critical in Pilates teaching you are not required to wear shoes but for hygiene reasons or for warmth you may wear socks. |

May I do Pilates if I am pregnant? |
| I do not currently host exclusively pregnancy classes, however this is something I would like to do as I firmly believe in the benefits of Pilates during pregnancy. |
| Should you be interested in joining a pregnancy group class, please contact me on
so that I may gather the interest for group classes. |
